David Dunay, joined Goldberg Weprin Finkel Goldstein LLP, as a Real Estate Valuation and Assessment Analyst in the Tax Certiorari practice group in 2021. Prior to joining Goldberg Weprin, Mr. Dunay spent over thirty years at the New York City Tax Commission where he held the position of Director of Appraisal and Hearings. Mr. Dunay managed the agency’s 25 hearing officers, who collectively were delegated with the task of reviewing over 55,000 property assessments annually. As the “top tier” hearing officer, Mr. Dunay personally reviewed all high value applications, reconsideration cases, and complex valuation matters. Mr. Dunay's level of insight into the inner workings of the New York City Tax Commission and expertise in property assessment review is unmatched and a true commodity. Mr. Dunay is a member of the Institute of Assessing Officers (IAO) with status of Professional Assessor, he is also designated as a State Certified Assessor (New York City) from the Office of Real Property Services (ORPS) of the State of New York and is a member of the International Association of Assessing Officers.
